  2. SYMPTOMS may include vaginal pain and discharge, lower abdominal cramps,
  3. painful intercourse and frequent urgent urination.
  4. CAUSES are the uterus protruding through the vaginal orifice. This is from
  5. the stretching and weakness of the ligaments and muscles that hold the
  6. uterus in place. Weakness and stretching may be caused by excessive coughing
  7. heavy lifting, congenital weakness, age or numerous pregnancies.
  8. TREATMENT. A pessary inserted in vagina. Surgery may be required.
